May 1, 2013 – I-5 Publishing LLC announced today that Jeff Scharf had joined the company as Vice President and Group Publisher, overseeing advertising sales for flagship titles Dog Fancy and Cat Fancy, their associated brand extensions and websites, and veterinary trade title Veterinary Practice News.
“We are very pleased that Jeff has returned to lead the titles he helped build,” said Chief Strategy Officer – Digital and Advertising Daniel Ambrose. “We count on his insight and enthusiasm to energize the existing business and drive expansion of new revenues streams.”
Scharf was a 22-year veteran of BowTie Inc., whose assets I-5 Publishing acquired in early February. He served in a number of sales roles throughout those two decades, including most recently as Vice President of Sales.
“I am thrilled to join the team at I-5,” said Scharf. “Dog Fancy and Cat Fancy have always been the most well-respected pet care guides in the world, and now – with I-5’s plans to evolve and expand the content to more media platforms – their authoritative voice will be that much stronger. Veterinary Practice News is coming off a banner year, and still has incredible potential for growth, so it’s an exciting time to ‘come home’ to publications that are so important to me.”
Scharf will be based out of the company’s Chicago office.
